Position Summary:
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Therapist / Specialist is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and evidence-based cardiac rehabilitation services to patients with cardiovascular diseases. The role ensures compliance with MOPH Qatar regulations, focusing on patient safety, clinical excellence, and multidisciplinary care.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, cardiac risk stratification, and functional capacity evaluation
- Develop and implement individualised cardiac rehabilitation plans as per physician orders
- Supervise structured exercise programs (Phase I, II, III cardiac rehab)
- Continuously monitor patient vital signs and clinical response during therapy sessions
- Educate patients and families on:
- Lifestyle modification (diet, physical activity)
- Risk factor management (hypertension, diabetes, smoking cessation)
- Medication adherence
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with MOPH standards
- Ensure adherence to infection control policies and patient safety protocols
- Respond effectively to cardiac emergencies (BLS/ACLS protocols)
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and risk management programs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiologists, nurses, dietitians, physiotherapists)
Qualification Requirements: (MOPH-Aligned)
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Physiotherapy OR
- Exercise Science OR
- Nursing OR
- Related Allied Health Field
- Valid MOPH License / Eligibility in the relevant category
- Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience in cardiac rehab/cardiology / ICU / physiotherapy
- Certification in:
- BLS (Mandatory)
- ACLS (Preferred / Required in hospital setting)
Competency Requirements:
- Knowledge of cardiovascular diseases and rehabilitation protocols
- Ability to interpret ECG, vital signs, and exercise tolerance
- Strong clinical decision-making skills
- Effective communication and patient education ability
- Familiarity with MOPH policies, patient rights, and documentation standards
Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities:
- Practice within the scope defined by the Ministry of Public Health
- Maintain valid professional license and CPD requirements
- Adhere to Qatar healthcare laws, ethical standards, and confidentiality policies
Experience (Preferred):
- Experience in hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation programs
- Exposure to post-cardiac surgery and chronic cardiac patient management
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Patient recovery outcomes and functional improvement
- Compliance with treatment protocols
- Patient satisfaction scores
- Documentation accuracy and audit compliance
